Reviewing Leeds ICB’s service arrangement with the William Merritt Centre
Involving people in reshaping what the centre is able to offer with a reduced funding package.
Brief description of the project
The ICB in Leeds has been funding the William Merritt Centre since before 2009 to provide impartial professional advice, information and assessment of assistive equipment for people with disabilities and long-term conditions.
Due to system-wide financial pressures, the ICB in Leeds has proposed a reduction to the funding along with an opportunity to involve people in the redesign of what a reduced service offer may look like.
This engagement seeks to involve staff and people using the service to engage in conversations to determine the best outcome in the given situation.
Who will we speak to?
We will initially speak to staff working within the William Merritt Centre and to staff who refer or signpost to the centre. We will follow this up by speaking to people who use the centre and their carers / family members. We will also speak to other stakeholders with an interest in the service.
What and how will we ask?
We will ask staff for their opinion on proposed changes to the ICB funded service, if they have ideas on what should be prioritised and where further efficiencies may be made.
We will then ask people using the centre to provide feedback on the proposals.
Most feedback will be collected by surveys, available online and paper copies. There will also be a focus group for staff in early December.
What will we do?
All the feedback will be brought together into an engagement report which will be shared with all parties and will contribute to the forward planning for the service.
