Useful information and advice to help you understand the COVID-19 vaccine in a range of languages, from a range of sources and in a range of formats.
The three approved vaccines – Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna and Oxford AstraZeneca – are safe and have been through rigorous checks, as well as extensive trials. They do not contain any animal product, so you can have the vaccine if you don’t eat pork or other animal products for cultural or religious reasons.

Resources for people of the Jewish faith
The Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) provides helpful resources regarding the vaccine on its dedicated JLC Community Portal. You can find this page here: https://jlcportal.info/
The UK’s Chief Rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, has recorded a video to urge Jewish people to accept the vaccine when they are offered it. You can watch this video on Chief Rabbi Mirvis’ Facebook page here.

The Hindu Forum of Britain has issued a COVID-19 vaccine information guide which you can access here. The Hindu Council UK has also published a statement in support of the vaccination programme.
Resources for people of Christian faiths
A number of Christian faith leaders have come together through the Give Hope campaign to encourage people to take up the COVID-19 vaccination when they are offered it. Those to endorse this campaign include representatives from the Church of England as well as from the Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal and Evangelical Church in the UK. - Produced by The Runnymede Trust, this video features leaders from a number of faiths and BAME community leaders addressing concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine, misinformation and urging people to take the vaccine when it is offered to them.

Resources for people with learning disabilities and / or autism
- NHS England has developed a short film for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people about vaccination. It talks about coronavirus and the coronavirus vaccine. It describes what a vaccine is and how you might feel when you have the vaccine and how important it is to have the vaccine.
- In this video from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Alison Conyers, Lead Professional for Learning Disabilities and Autism, talks about the importance of getting your vaccination, especially for people who are clinically vulnerable, and how you don’t need to be afraid. You can see what happens at the vaccine centre and how to ask for help.

Resources in community languages
The NHS in Leeds and Leeds City Council have worked together to develop information in community languages about the COVID-19 vaccine. A leaflet and audio files feature local clinicians and faith leaders, who highlight on the importance of having the vaccine.
